Project Coordinator position opening
In partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
(RWJF), the OMG Center is directing the national program, New Connections:
Increasing Diversity of RWJF Programming. New Connections aims to
introduce new scholars and researchers in health and health care, from groups
historically underrepresented in RWJF programming, to the Foundation.
The OMG Center (www.omgcenter.org ), a Philadelphia based
nonprofit organization, supports innovative solutions to the challenges facing
communities through evaluation, strategic research and planning, and
philanthropic services. OMG works nationally with organizations, individually
and collectively, in the nonprofit, foundation and governmental sectors. Areas
of established expertise include public health and healthcare, pre-k-12 and
higher education, arts and culture, children youth and families, community and
regional development, electronic media policy, and the environment. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation located in
Princeton, NJ, is the nation's largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to

experience, commitment and a rigorous, balanced approach to the problems that

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assists with management of the New Connections program which
includes:.
Managing and monitoring grantee, alumni and applicant relation; Identifying and implementing innovative stragtegies for promoting the New Connections Program; Assisting with event management for national meetings and training; Working with New Connections program staff as well as departments within RWJF to ensure successful launch of New Connections Call for Proposals (CFPs); Helping to synthesize findings from grantees and disseminate findings from New Connections to RWJF Program Teams; Monitoring, tracking, learning from and reporting on RWJF team initiatives and programs. Additionally, the project coordinator will engage in research activities that will inform the work of the New Connections Program. These activities will include: Gathering and synthesizing research for internal and external use, including producing clearly written products that integrate findings on diversity from external and RWJF funded projects and highlight lessons learned for internal and external audiences.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree or equivalent education and experience in public health, public administration, health economics, and education or a related health, behavioral or social science field. Minimum two (2) years of related professional work experience with diversity programs,including programs to help increase the representation of historically under-represented groups, aswell as working with alumni, fellows and scholars programs in monitoring, tracking and supportingnetworks. Personally motivated to support the goals of the New Connections program. Strong project and people management skills, including demonstrated ability to: think independently and interact effectively as part of a team and in multidisciplinary teams and settings; be flexible, creative, and able to juggle multiple priorities; and be tolerant of ambiguity and differences in work approaches. Excellent written, electronic communication and oral presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; collegial, energetic, ability to develop productive relationships with colleagues, grantees, applicants, consultants, external funders and others who contribute to New Connections development and management. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with research synthesis/review as well as strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and produce clearly written materials for multiple audiences. Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills; experience with SPSS, SAS or STATAhelpful.
Strong
computing skills including use of Internet, MS Office Suite, Excel and
